新コースの実験実習。旧コースの受講生10∼15人とは異なり、新コースでは受講生40名以上。ソルガムの発育形態観察、生育調査(草丈、葉数、SPAD計)、成長解析(群落成長速度、葉面積指数、純同化速度)、水吸収量推定。ちょっと詰め込み過ぎたが、研究室のポスドクと指導生が手際よく作業を仕切ってくれ、予想よりも遥かに早く終了。受講生にも笑顔が浮かび、まずは一安心。
Laboratory
Laboratory for the new course. Unlike the old course, which had 10-15 students, the new course has over 40 students. Activities included observation of sorghum growth morphology, growth measurements (plant height, leaf number, SPAD meter readings), growth analysis (crop growth rate, leaf area index, net assimilation rate), and estimation of water uptake. We tried to cover a bit too much content, but the postdoc and graduate students in my laboratory efficiently managed the work, and we finished much earlier than expected. The students were smiling, which was a relief for now.
