与謝野町が取り組む有機コメ作り「京の豆っこ米」。地形が土壌微生物叢を変化させ、収量にも影響を与えている可能性を発見。遠隔地であることに加えてコロナ禍の真っただ中。生産者の皆様や役場の皆様の全面的な協力のおかげで、論文を公表し新聞にも取り上げて頂けた。もちろん、学生の踏ん張りあってこそ。

Yosano Town’s organic rice cultivation project “Kyo no Mamekko Rice.” We discovered the possibility that topography alters soil microbial communities, which in turn affects rice yield. Despite the remote location and being in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to the full cooperation of producers and town hall officials, we were able to publish our research paper and have it featured in the newspaper. Of course, this was also made possible by the students’ perseverance.
