名鉄病院でマラリア予防薬を購入。
日本ではマラリア予防薬の流通量が少なく、すぐに処方してもらえない場合や量や種類が限られると聞いていた。家から近くマラリア予防薬を処方できる名鉄病院に処方して欲しい旨を電話で伝え、幸い了承を得ることができ練所退所後すぐに受け取りに行った。名鉄病院のお医者さんには黄熱病や腸チフスのワクチン接種でもお世話になった。多くの協力隊員を診たのだろう、アフリカ行きの私に多くのアドバイスをくれる優しいお医者さんだった。

Purchased malaria prevention medication at Meitetsu Hospital.I had heard that malaria prevention medication has limited distribution in Japan, and that you might not be able to get a prescription immediately, or that the quantity and types might be limited. I called Meitetsu Hospital, which is close to my home and can prescribe malaria prevention medication, to request a prescription. Fortunately, I was able to get their approval and went to pick it up immediately after leaving the training center. I had also received yellow fever and typhoid vaccinations from the doctor at Meitetsu Hospital. He was a kind doctor who had probably seen many Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers and gave me a lot of advice for my trip to Africa.
