私がガーナへ派遣されるにあたり研究の方々が送迎会を開いてくれた。約3か月間ぶりの研究室の雰囲気を懐かしく感じた。研究室メンバーはアフリカからの留学生と関わりがあるからなのか、他の人々よりも私に対して心配するような素振りがなかったように感じた。海外経験がなく無知なだけなのか、ガーナに知人がいるからなのか、自身もガーナ行きには強い不安や緊張を感じていないことに気が付いた。渡航後、どのような気持ちの変化が起こるのか、楽しみである。

The research team held a farewell party for me as I was being dispatched to Ghana. I felt nostalgic about the research lab atmosphere, which I hadn’t experienced for about three months. Perhaps because the lab members have connections with African international students, they didn’t seem as worried about me as other people did. I realized that I wasn’t feeling strong anxiety or tension about going to Ghana either, whether it was because I lack overseas experience and am just ignorant, or because I have acquaintances in Ghana. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of emotional changes will occur after I travel there.
