JICA海外協力隊は派遣前に各所へご挨拶を差し上げる。今回は、津市役所と三重県庁を訪問し、前葉市長と服部副知事に対して活動の抱負を語った。また三重県庁から「みえ国際協力大使」に任命され、「派遣国と三重県との架け橋として国際交流を推進」するという任務も請け負った。ボランティアと言いながらも公的な性質を色濃く帯びた協力隊活動。気負わず、ただし精一杯に活動して欲しい。

From Local to Global

JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers pay courtesy visits to various offices before their despatchment. This time, she visited Tsu City Hall and Mie Prefectural Government, where they shared their aspirations for her activities with Mayor Maeba and Vice Governor Hattori. She was also appointed as “Mie International Cooperation Ambassadors” by the Mie Prefectural Government, taking on the mission to “promote international exchange as a bridge between their assigned countries and Mie Prefecture.” Despite being called volunteers, the cooperation activities have a distinctly public character. We hope she will carry out their activities wholeheartedly, without feeling pressured.
