タンザニアのローアモシ灌漑地区で新たな農家圃場試験が始まりました。KATCのPeter Alfredさんが代掻きの様子を伝える写真を送付してくれました。ローアモシ灌漑地区やキリマンジャロ農業技術者訓練センターでは、灌漑により1年間に3作が可能になっています。Peter Alfredさんは私達と出会った2009年頃からほぼ毎年3作経験しています。JICA筑波で日本式の水稲栽培も習得しており、安心して圃場試験を任せることができます。

Another field experiment has started at a farmer-field in the Lower Moshi Irrigation Scheme (LMIS). Mr. Peter Alfred of the Kilimanjaro Agricultural Training Centre (KATC) sent us some photos showing his workers puddling the experimental field. In the LMIS and KATC, rice plants can be grown three times an year thanks to a good irrigation facility. Mr. Peter Alfred has been growing rice plants three times every years since he was employed by the KATC around 2009. Besides, he learnt the Japanese way of growing rice plants at the JICA Tsukuba Training Center. Thus, we are able to leave an important task like this experiment to him only providing an experimental plan without meeting each other.
