Prefecture Office × University
A guest lecture in my AgriFood Systems course. A representative from the prefecture office came and gave a lecture using case studies from within the prefecture, explaining how the selection of production technologies is significantly influenced not only by producers’ intentions but also by the demand from distributors and consumers. The key message was that choices that may appear poor from a technology developer’s perspective can actually be optimal when viewed from the entire system, and conversely, seemingly good choices can lead to the worst outcomes.
